Before I Begin…

Published March 4, 2013 by stonidee

I have soooo much to do today!
Kids’ breakfast and HOMEwork (they’re homeschooled…temporarily)?  Check.
Online bill payments?  Check. UGHHHH!! Hate giving money away, yet love the peace it brings.
Housework? Welllll… I’ve started but decided to hide away in my quiet space (bathroom) for a lil’ blogging.

Meanwhile my three beautiful rugrats sing, argue, fuss, and whine over…well…EVERYTHING!!!
The hubby’s gone off to a short workday so they’ll have a legitimate reason to scream my name, “Mommyyyyyyy!”, only. Notice I said LEGITIMATE because even when daddy’s home, my name seems easiest for them to shout lol.

My weekend was pretty darned decent!
Friday night I saw one of my very favorite singers, Brandy, LIVE and ohhhhh what. a. show. In my very valid opinion (lol), she is one of THEE BEST live singers to do “it”. I mean goodness, the woman didn’t even mess up! Not one off note. Not one bad riff.
I enjoyed that wonderful experience with my best girlfriend and two of my other favorite girls and fashionalistas. I think I just made that word up lol!
I’m sure the taxicab drivers enjoyed our short stays (side eye).

Saturday, in comparison to Friday, was very… sssssslllllllooooooowwwwwww. Almost unbearable until it hit me of just how long it really had been since I’d had some fun out with friends.
So yeah, my Saturday was pretty normal, for me. I just have gotten so used to being indoors surrounded by children, books, drumsticks, and a broom in my hand with Lion King playing in the background, that I’d forgotten what it was to let my hair down amongst my grown girlfriends with traffic, strange bystanders, and blaring music surrounding us.
So thanks ladies! Let’s do it again…SOON!!!!

My Sunday was filled with thanks to God and calmness. I always appreciate that.

Welp, I have to leave my quiet space and enter into my REAL world…which I also appreciate.
The functionality of my home depending largely on me is my norm.

I’m cool with that ;)!

What A Journey!

I wish I could remember EVERY bit of thought that enters my mind and write it down at the very moment (s) it happens. However, I’m not always prepared with pen, pencil, paper, and WordPress lol.

I relish in so many precious moments worth remembering forever…the good, bad, and ugly.
So many lessons, trial and errors, and tribulations. The going throughs and overcomings.

Through it all, the things that make the world turn. The reasons life is worth living. The FAITH that pushes through that needed inch.
THAT’S what keeps me going and going STRONG!

My faith in God; my marriage; my husband, best friend, life partner/mate; my children; ambitions, hopes, and dreams for not only myself but also the ones I love…yeah *smile* I CAN MAKE IT! I WILL MAKE IT!
Because I have the guts to endure every bit of all I go through and to see it make me a better me.

Wounded but NEVER defeated!

Yet another tasty treat!

Live to Write - Write to Live

Friday Fun is a group post from the writers of the NHWN blog. Each week, we’ll pose and answer a different question. We hope you’ll join in by providing your answer in the comments.

QUESTION: If you could solve one big hairy audacious problem … what would it be? And why chose this dilemma of all the problems in the world?

Susan Nye: Alzheimer’s Disease for many reasons, some selfish, some practical and some born of sadness:

Alzheimer’s Disease runs in my family, I’ve seen it in action and it scares the bejeezus out of me. Will it happen to me? Will I too lose the ability to write, read, cook, drive, speak and live independently?

Baby boomers are aging. The first boomers turned sixty-five in 2011. Every single day another 10,000 celebrate the big six-five and it won’t slow down until 2030. One out of eight Americans aged sixty-five and…

I just love tasty recipes!

barelypoppins

sweet chilli chicken with sweet potato chips and salad

This is a quick and healthy weeknight dinner that doesn’t skimp on the yum-factor.

sweet chilli chicken:
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp ginger, finely grated
2 tbsp olive oil
Chicken breast, chopped into thirds (just so it will cook consistently and quicker)

Combine all of the above, except the chicken, in an oven dish and give it a mix.
Now throw the chicken in and turn it about to coat the chicken pieces. Give the chicken bits a bit of space in the dish for heat to circulate.
Bake at 180 c for about 20 – 30 minutes.

Check your thickest piece of chicken to make sure its cooked. I cook the bejeebers out of chicken. The good thing about this meal is that over cooking the chicken just makes the yummy sauce coating more chewy and caramelised.

Tip: Soak your…

Marriage Life Is Good!

As many of you know I am homeschooling my kids and my niece. The last couple of weeks we have been talking about plants. We discussed what plants need in order to grow healthy and the process of how  plants grow. We planted some sunflower seeds in small containers and sat them in our kitchen windowsill.   The kids have all been amazed at how fast they seem to be growing right before our eyes. My oldest daughter said, ” We are taking good care of our plants mommy.” 🙂

Our little science project really got me to thinking of ways in which I can facilitate opportunities to grow in my marriage and family life.  The Holy Spirit reminded me that we must nurture our marriages  just like flowers.  Much like plants our spouses and kids need to receive some very specific things from us in order to grow and to…

Speechless

Published April 12, 2012 by stonidee

Whether you’ve noticed or not that I haven’t blogged in awhile, let’s stick to the fact. I HAVEN’T!*chuckle*
I have been around though. A little here, a bit there…and I’m STILL here. Just not so verbal but rather more observant. Taking mental notes. Some of my life findings have left me downright speechless!
Nevertheless, I am alive & well. Still laughing, living, learning & listening to my husband, kids, friends, associates, and last but first, God.

Boy, is my work cut out!!
